I'm so very proud of my parents Greg and Cindy for recently doing the incredibly unnecessary. They both ran in the Tyler Rose Half Marathon this past Sunday. It was a beautiful, hilly course ending in the Tyler Rose Garden. It was a great way to spend a couple hours on a Sunday. Of course the preparation leading up to the race was a considerable effort. Weeks and weeks of getting up early to run... All to the neglect of me. Oh sure, I could have run with them, but that's not my style. I'm all too happy to veg out all day long.
But in all seriousness, they both worked hard and accomplished exactly what they set out to do. Cindy will continue her training as she looks forward to running in the San Antonio Rock n Roll Marathon. This race benefits the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure among other charities.
The great Jesse Owens once said, "I always loved running... it was something you could do by yourself, and under your own power. You could go in any direction, fast or slow as you wanted, fighting the wind if you felt like it, seeking out new sights just on the strength of your feet and the courage of your lungs."
However, I tend to live by this quote from Victoria Wood. "Jogging is for people who aren't intelligent enough to watch television." :)

We are so excited as Halloween approaches! We're turning the studio into a Haunted House this year, and it should prove to be a real TREAT for the kiddos. They can expect some spooky (but not too scary) decorations, Halloween candy, and a fun festive photo to remember it all. Make sure to come dressed up in your Halloween costumes... you too parents. We'll guide your little ones through our Haunted House, tell them the story of the "Phantom Photographer" while we pose them for a quick photo, then give some candy while your photo is being printed up.
For those concerned parents, the "level of scary" is geared towards elementary school age children. Our efforts this year in giving the children a Happy Halloween is just one fun way for us to give back to the community. Hope to see you here!
