A Dog Around Town...

April - Objectively speaking, is quite possibly the greatest month of the year. :) The azaleas and bluebonnets are peaking. Fans and family hit the ballpark as baseball and softball is in full swing. The legendary green jacket is battled over during the beautifully adorned Masters Golf Tournament. The bass spawn begins, offering the greatest fishing ever known to mankind. Crawfish are in season for a fun family crawfish bowl. Easter egg hunts are right around the corner. Vegetable gardens are growing. And to top it off some of my favorite people in the whole world were born in April. I'm not mentioning any names, but you can send my presents to... just kidding.
What's not to love? Seriously, it has got to be the greatest month of the year!
So what are you doing this April? We have been blessed with beauty all around us, complimented with good weather... great time for family portraits (sorry about the shameless plug.) Check out the Nac CVB's website for some great ideas. They have a wonderful calendar of events that tells of all the local events you would find enjoyable for the family.

Celebrating Seven Amazing Years as
G. Patterson Photographic Studio & Gallery!
Making Our Passion for the Business So Worth It! April 3 marked the seventh anniversary of PhotoGraphics Studio making its biggest transformation in almost twenty years. By changing our name to G Patterson Studio & Gallery and moving our location to the turn-of-the-century home at 122 N Mound St., we hoped to entrench our little enterprise in East Texas society and, more importantly, in the hearts of our soon-to-be loyal clients. We chose this location not only for its "curb appeal" and excellent history, but for its easy accessibility. Not only was it easy to find because of its physical location, it became "like home" to many of our clients who continue to come to us month after month, year after year. G. Patterson Studio is indeed located in the historic Albert A. Nelson home built by Dietrich Rulfs in 1898. The home has seen many changes and owners over the past 100 plus years. It was designed by Dietrich Rulfs, familiar to our quaint town, who designed more than 50 homes, churches and buildings in Nacogdoches from the 1880s until the 1920s. Many of which are listed as Texas Historical Landmarks or National Register Landmarks. As many changes as have been the residents of the home, so are the changes made by Greg and Cindy and their friends and family before they could open their doors. Though Zeta Beta Tau, the last occupants, enclosed the porch in back giving it more floor space, there was much cleaning up to do inside and out. We painted and sanded and weeded and landscaped and constructed for months in order to make it presentable. Instead of the beautiful wormwood walls you see now in the studio, you saw a lot of blue. And, outside where the garden is, there was just an overgrown volleyball court. The business itself has undergone many changes too, the biggest probably being changing its format from film to digital back in 2000. From changing and improving upon style and products to offering refreshments and adding loyalty programs, it has all stemmed from our commitment to our clients. That's the one thing we haven't changed... that the client is always "so worth it."
